36. Mechanical Engineer. I wanted an old truck since I was a kid. In 1992 I bought a 'project' 1951 GMC 3/4 5-window in Idaho for $100. It remained stashed in various places while I served on subs in Pearl Harbor. After I got paroled from the Navy, I went to work at Los Alamos as a building maintenance planner. I took the truck apart, then went back to school and hauled the parts from rental to rental. The truck kept disappearing until all that remains are the cab and front clip. Last year I found a 1949 Chevy 1-ton panel truck and another (more complete) 51 GMC 1/2 ton.
