I found this NOS Vacu-matic carburator control the other day.
It goes between the mica washer and manifold.
It's really well build and breathes in extra air under load.
It really works, especially going up the hill.
I get better acceleration and power with the same pressure on the gas pedal.
Made by Vacu-matic Carburetor Co.

I even found another one and will install them in my dual carb setup I plan on installing shortly.

It reminded me of those infomercials about that device that goes into modern air filters.
They claim it being a brand new idea which will revolutionize the industry - probably overprized and flimsy.

But this thing is quality made in the 50's, works differently, but with the same principal.
The cool instructions that come with it, claim it will last as long as the life of your car.
I don't doubt it a second.

Has anybody had similar experiences with that simple device?

I love the engineers from back then - they were so in-tune with everything and always did the right thing, without too much or too little than what's really necessary. smile
