Evening Folks!
I've got a question concerning the pilot bushing out of my GMC 228. I ordered a new pilot bushing from one of the popular vendors, without first looking at the old one closely. Well, the vendor listed only one type. After it arrived, I crawled under the truck to install it, only to find out its way off. (O'k, you more experienced GMC guys can chuckle all you want at this point!) :o

It is apparently the Chevy bronze bushing. Maybe the vendor specializes just a little too much in Chevy parts.
The roller, ball-bearing bushing came out of the GMC crank shaft with no trouble and appears to be in very good condition, (smooth, no heat marks or rust, good and tight integrity). My question is, can I simply repack the GMC bearing with chassis grease and reinstall it?
Thanks for any help!
