Don't! Use a 235 from 54 to 62 and will be bolt-in. For 250 you will need the same mount/crossover and trans tail mount/x-over to put in your truck. Your orig bellhouse will not fit a 250 and that's where the mounts are for your 216 now. There is no front mount for a 250, but the bellhouse from a mid/late 50's V-8 truck will have the bellhouse you could use with orig mounts there and will fit your trans. Otherwise, if you go with the V-8 type changeover mounts that go on side of engine you will still need a later b/house and only up to a 67 as they changed the front of trans on later ones and yours won't fit in it tightly even though the mount bolts have same spacing. Then, you may need to remove the b/house x-over to allow the new b/house to be in that area. I'm not sure what GM used for trans tail mount, it must have been used after 63 and not sure if it is added on to trans (same as yours) or if trans was changed at tail to mount. Then, the waterpump and fan are too long and you will need to move rad forward, hacking up your support or other stuff to do that. They have short pumps for later 235's, but not the 250's. Then throttle linkage may be a problem. THEN.....list goes on and on. 235 is better bet. Car engine will fit the same also.
