#25234 05/22/2005 7:02 PM | Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 622 Member | | Member Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 622 | The accelerator pump isn't that important when starting a hot engine. In fact, when my 235 is hot, oftentimes I don't even have to give it gas to get it started.
Your engine is obviously starved for gas. Generally this would be more of a problem when the engine is cold though. Are you sure that it's not flooding out? When you put the start fluid in you probably hold the gas to the floor when starting right? Next time try holding it to the floor to start without adding the starting fluid and let us know what happens. Otherwise I'd rebuild the carb and check the fuel pump.
