Do you drive often in the rain with the vent open?
Does your vent gasket seal when the vent is closed?
Maybe a short-term and partial solution is to direct the drainage tube to the other side of the block (the intake/exhaust manifold side). I thought that this is how it was supposed to be directed.
Next, connect an extension tube, long enough to reach the bottom of the block.
I have never had this problem with my trucks - just lucky, I guess. My drainage tubes are pointing to 4 o'clock (when looking from the front of the truck).
