Check out the resources available on this site. There is no problem asking questions (of course) but you might be able to quickly answer many of your questions by also doing the following:
1. Check out the Tech Tips link at the top of this page. A lot of excellent information is in that section.
2. Check out the Links page. You have to go one more level, but the Parts link on the left is quite handy as an extensive list of vendors (warning: some links are out of date).
3. Obtain a catalog from
Jim Carter Antique Truck Parts ,
Classic Parts of America (Chevy Duty) ,and
Chevs of the 40\'s . Their catalogs are excellent reference guides for what parts fit what years (warning: there are a few mistakes in each catalog). Some of these catalogs are free with a small order of parts.
Here is the pertinent page in JC\'s catalog for the running board plugs. Brothers should know better than what they told you about the running boards.
