Here is a scan of the panel truck passenger seat (RPO 263)
from the 1949/50 Truck Data Book. The description indicates that it can be tilted forward to get to the storage compartment and to provide more load space.
The
panel truck driver\'s seat seems to look like the passenger seat, but it does not flip forward and it is on a sliding/adjustable platform (the passenger seat does not sit on a sliding adjustable platform).
Both seats are seem to be what Tony describes.
