This is a pic of a typical olds engine. Oil filler on front of intake is the big giveaway. Most were painted gold, had rochester 2bbls or Q-jet 4bbls, rear distributor, strange looking timing cover. Low RPM torque monster, similar in performance to pontiac 350 but no parts interchange. Don't revv them past 5 grand with stock cast rods. Good motors. More expensive to rebuild than SBC, but good power potential. 2bbl 9:1 compression motor was rated at 250 HP stock.
