you could also try some of the epoxy putty that you can buy at home depot or others,,have used this stuff for a lot of stuff, it will form as hard as steel.used it about 15 yrs ago on my 70 international to fix a leak on the gas tank,, it is still sealed,,,,,easy to use, roll it up and apply...regards..Fred
