GM gave the directions in a '48 tech service bulletin - Jim Carter has a copy on his web site.
I found a '38 (I think) Olds tailight on eBay with a cool fin on top. It uses the same lens and retainer as the '39 Chevy. Combined with a rusty '39 Chevy housing (for the indented bottom), I should have a cool roof-mounted taillight. | | |
