This topic has been discussed a few times on different forums. No one has come up with a GM, GMC, or Chevrolet document that describes a passenger-side spare tire mount for Advance-Design Chevrolet or New Design GMC pick-up trucks. For those that did not know, the 53-55 models had an optional driver's bed-side-mount spare tire.
However, it would have been quite easy to install the side mount on 3/4 and 1 ton pick-ups, because the bed is long enough to install the mount on the bed-side forward to the rear fender (without having to cut a dimple in the fender).
