Mustang II IFS clips are designed so that the clip and suspension pieces take most of the stress and reduce frame flexing..And coupled with frame plates that should be welded in, adds to its strength. The stock spring suspension is tied soley to the frame channel for strength,so cutting and welding in that area is an issue.It's amazing how brittle old steel can be.
