In 1966 I got the new truck itch, but never bought one.However I could have bought a new Chevy fleetside with 6 cyl.and 3 sp. gear box for about $1600.Toward the end of the year,after the 67s were on the dealers lot.I could have bought a 66 Ford same equip. for $1500.I ended up buying a 65 Ford from a friend for $1400. that had a custom cab,radio,rear step bumper,352 cu. in.V/8 and 3 sp. gear box, in like new condition.The year old Ford was a much nicer truck than the new 66 Chevys,and Fords.
