Curly, I have done this surgery on the jimmy. You are gonna need a power steering gearbox off of a mid 70's chevy half ton. You are gonna need a pitman arm with holes about 4" apart unless you sprang the bucks for the one the vendors sell. I used one off a 74 lesabre, and it works ok, but is a little longer than what the kit recommends. You are gonna need a couple of borgeson type u joints to connect your new steering box to your steering column, no matter what column you use, since you are relocating the gearbox. For me, I cut the steering column off about 4 inches on the engine side of the firewall and rigged a bearing in the end of the outer "pipe" to hold the 3/4" steering shaft. This lets me use the stock steering column and the stock steering wheel while gaining power steering. Questions? You can email me at
