Muriatic acid is Hydrochloric acid, which is the same as human stomach acid. You can dilute it with lots of water and it won't hurt a thing.
Make sure you rinse the tank out with water and then immediately fill it to the brim with gasoline, otherwise it will rust inside almost immediately.The acid sucks all the oils out of the metal and makes it rust fast.
