Purchased from ChevyDuty a new vacuum advance for my '51 chevy 1/2 ton with a 1955 235 engine.
The original unit in the truck has the flange (with the hash marks) at right angles to the vacuum chamber, whereas the new unit had it inline with / coming straight out of the chamber. My mechanic and I couldn't get the new unit to sit properly, w/out it hitting the engine.
ChevyDuty says their unit is for 1947-1962 ... so whats wrong with this picture? Do I have to somehow modify the vacuum advance unit...or is there another style with the angled flange...and if so...where does one find it
