I made a dolly too but used 2" square tube and 2" angle iron with 2x4 cross supports and 2x6 for the cab to sit on. Welded them up and put on some 4" casters. It works like a dream and didn't cost much at all. If you want, I can send you the dimensions and a couple of pix.
