I’m trying to more fully understand which 6 cylinder engines were available over which years in both Chevys and GMC’s. Also what the basic differences were.
I know this has been discussed here many times, but I can not find a single complete listing. (Maybe I’m not looking hard enough) I know Barry has done several Tech Tips on the subject
I would like to send Peg a single sheet that lists the following info (assuming it’s not already available)
Years the engine was available
Was it available in cars, trucks or both
Was it a Chevy or GMC
Displacement
Valve cover bolt arrangement
Height of the side cover
Pressure or splash oiling
Babbit or insert bearings
I believe the various displacements include 194, 204, 216, 235, 261, 270, 302 and most likely several more
