Just a suggestion....I used the fender welting on my 54.....it would make things easier if you would drill an additional hole in between each of the factory holes on the front fenders. A nut and bolt are used for these and the additional holes will insure that your welting stays in place. Also, I used some very thin 2 sided tape to attach and hold the welting to the front fenders. Making sure that the fender lip is not bowed out will insure that your welting goes in straight and stays that way.

This drilling is best accomplished BEFORE you start bolting on the fenders. Adding the welting really gives the fenders a "finished" look. Hope this helps.
