You can swap just about any engine into these trucks...Adapting the new engines mounts to a mount (riser) is the trick...The riser will be the piece that goes between the engine and the frame...You will notice there are different holes in the crossmember to accept different risers...In fact if you were to install a small block Chevy into your truck.you would use the inline six risers and move them to the other set of mount holes...I'm in the middle of installing a 455 Olds in a 72 C10..I picked up the entire riser set up from a mid/late 70's Chev truck that came with the 350 Diesel..The rear mount shouldn't be too tough...I'm going to use a short TH350 with dual bolt pattern.(fits small block and big block)..but a long TH350 should work because the frame rails are pretty straight and a rear crossmember can be bolted in... wink
