atomarc 'Bolter A Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 5,708 Eureka, CA	PoorOldSod, Mixing Soluble oil with coolant was very common years ago. It supposedly kept the water pump lubricated and who knows what else. Maybe it raised the freezing temperature of the water too! Stuart
