For something that old, I dont know if there really is a difference between rare and uncommon. Rare can be obtained in one of two ways,
1. Not very many were produced
2. What was produced mostly ended up getting scrapped or for whatever reason is no longer exsisting.
For that, I agree, it is both uncommon and probably rare in today's society.
