If the front axle was a 3/4 or 1 ton, then it would have 8 stud wheels. As yours has 6, it is a 1/2 ton.
Could someone have taken an 8 3/4 ton front axle, drilled new holes for 6 lugs on the hub, and mounted a 6 lug drum and wheel? Possible, but not likely and why would some one whant to do this?
