I agree Stuart; outside Chicago here, we have an industrial bearing supplier, Berry Bearing, that is part of the larger, Motion Industries group. I was going to save myself a bunch of money and buy all my bearings and seals from them. I've tried to get wheel, center support, rear axel bearings and seals by using the number on the bearings/seals and numbers from the parts books and they end up having to get them from the after market suppliers just like me. The counter man even told me, that I would be better off just ordering them from one of the vendors that sell restoration parts because when they get them, they have to mark them up. I found that to be true in almost all cases.
I just ordered inner/outer rear hub bearings and seals for my 3/4 ton from Carter, they had the best prices, but only three out of the four bearings. I've been waiting on the B/O for a week now and they say might be ten days, then it will probably be another ten days till they ship them, Carter has been very slow getting an order out in the past.
Oh, and McMaster is only an industrial supplier, I also doubt they would have any thing auto related. That said, I did find 1/4”x .028” Bundyweld plated steel brake tubing there for $15 for a 21ft. coil after I just paid $25 for a 20ft. coil at Inline Tube. Ten bucks differance almost buys another coil of tubing.
