See if I can find the strength of the bath, it's been a few years since I did it last. I just used fresh sulfuric that we kept for filling batteries. If I remember correctly I diluted it. Connect one side of a battery to the part and one side to aluminum foil that surrounded the part and let it cook for a while. I pulled it out and checked the surface for continuity periodically with a multimeter. The oxide that forms on the surface is non conductive. When I’m at that point, I’ll dig through the files and refresh my memory. Right now I’m busy making fixtures, bearing removers, parts for the door regulators, new brake lines, hose adaptors that screw into the bleeders and a few dozen other projects.
And that’s the point I have been trying to make, all of the parts stores that I have contacted are not interested in getting cups for me. I found a bunch of NOS cups but I’m a little leery for fear that they would be dried out.
