red58 said it right. I have a 350 in my '58 and it always runs about 200-210. It has never overheated but no doubt would run cooler with a shroud. Been thinking about adding an electric fan to assist with cooling. I dont really think a 305 will run any cooler than the 350. The secret is in the radiator and the airflow regardless of engine size.
