The favored one is the one that bolts up correctly and has all the other dimensional features including spedo and mounts. One other variant is a 250 transmission - it looks like a 350 but has weaker internal components & was designed for lower HP engines, 6 cyl's, etc - early 80's Olds Cutlass comes to mind. Fred
