The block casting number is on the back side of the block were the tranny mounts on the top. Usually hard to see if the is a lot of grime on it. That dot with other dots around it shows the time of day and what shift it was cast on I think. www.hotrodders.com/kb/ this may be helpful place for info also! Hope this helps
