I've done a few of these swaps, it's all a bolt in deal. Transmission crossmembers thru 72 fit right in. The late 70's van columns fit these trucks like they're made for'em. Use an intermediate shaft from a 69-72 pickup and shorten it to fit or cut your shaft to fit and connect it with a steering u-joint or coupler.
