Time and seller permitting take both clyinder heads off and check for piston damage. I bought a 383, "rebuilt 2000 mi ago", after taking one clyinder head off and checking the bores. No problems here the other side must be the same. Wrong. Detonation killed 2 pistons in the other bank and severely damaged the cyl walls. Lesson learned.
