Go to radio shack and buy a loose 9 volt batterey connector. Wire that in to the constant 12v side and ground of the radio. Just before disconecting the batterey, plug in a 9v. Once your 12v batterey is charged, disconnect the 9v. It's not going to keep for a long time but it should keep it for a couple hours.
In efforts to save money, get a rechargeable 9v
Another way to do this (if on a full 12v system) is through the cig lighter if you have one. Just need a loose cig adapter with no internal electronics and a 9v batterey end.
