My bad. Looks like the only factory option in 1946 for a 3/4 ton truck was a pickup.

So yours was probably just a 3/4 ton pickup from the factory that at some point had the factory bed removed, and the running boards chopped off at the back of the cab.

an idea is only stupid if you think about it rationally.
