Last june, while driving home, i meet a 54 2ton hauling sand. It looks fairly nice, and i was puzzled to see it in my area, as i know most all the trucks around me. Didnt figure I'd see it again....well Monday it showed up again in the same place on the hyway. My curious was up now. It was hauling corn this time, and that means it could only be going to the local elevator. After work today i stopped at that location and lo & behold there it was. The reason i didnt know about before, is the owner lives about 75 mls north of me, and uses it on his hobby farm along the river. Real nice guy, told me he got it in 68', it had a 261 in it then with a bad rod. He replaced it with a 283. It looks a lost rougher in person, with its rust patches and brushed on paint, but its a live and working bolt, doing just what it was built for after all these years. The wildest part was he dont even collect them, its just his work truck. He promised to look me up after the harvest, and let me have a closer look.
