mea culpa
I had a 59 hood sittin on the 57 panel for awhile cuz it was handy, w/ hinges attached, between 55 fenders that were just held on w/ a couple bungees - guess I didn't pay attention to the fit
so today I had a chance to do some checkin among the numerous hoods in the yard [make good covers for parts] - the early and late hoods are identical at the back, including the hinge mount points [on the hood] - they're also exactly the same length, but the front of the later hoods is 2" narrower than the early ones, with a subtle curve along the side to make up the difference
so the way to put the later hood on would be to put the whole 58/9 front clip on, which has other problems
