I couldn't readily find a emeregncy brake strut for my 1958 3100... just bought the truck. I guess they lost it and just assembled the brakes without.
Anyway, I had one as a pattern. Cut a new out of 3/16" with a junky old jig saw, drill, hand file, and bench grinder. took ~30 minutes. May still heat treat with a torch. it works fine.
The levers would be more work!
