I've had good luck powder coating carbs. I've only done two though. An old Rochester 1 barrel, and a Holley 4 bbl. The porosity of the castings will give you fits though. It holds all sorts of contaminents and will bubble and blister the powder coat. It took two tries on the main body of the Rochester to get acceptable results. The prep on the first failed attempt was, media blast the carb, clean with metal prep, prebake, reblast, reclean and coat. After blasting the powder coat back off, I repeated the above steps and achieved good results. An awful lot of work for an old carb. I think I would follow chevman32's advice.
