Mike 1951, you're correct. As I earlier stated, the one picture is not a 41 Special Deluxe (2-dr) It was a 51. However, if you looked further down, there was a 41 Special Deluxe 4-door.
46 Metal, you are also correct, that is indeed a 67 Impala. Pretty decent car. 327 V-8 with a 4-speed. Would have made an awesome 427 SS clone.
Orchidskip, and J. Lucas... The 1942 went for $5,900. However, it should be said, the auction was for the most part controlled by family interests and shill bidding.
The same group of individuals (all family members) purchased the 67 Impala ($5K), a 76 Caddy convert ($4K), the 42 truck ($5.9K), and the 33 Sedan ($11K).
Best deals of the day were a running 53 Chevy 4-door for $300 and a running/driveable 73 Caddy convert for $800.
Worst deals were 49 Buick with a "stuck" engine that sold for almost $5K. A $4K 1959 Edsel. The 50 5-window sold for nearly $3K (with the equipment removed from the bed) and the 53 3-window fetched just over $2K. In my opinion, both were "JUNK".
For anyone curious... That church bell fetched $4,100.
And, no after driving one-way 180 miles, I didn't buy anything.
