Years ago an old mechanic told me that it was not uncommon for the fan to come apart on these trucks and pieces go flyin' out through the hood! Anyway, those hoods come apart pretty easily if you find a right half. It will bolt together without a problem. Ask me how I know.........

Regarding the fans coming apart, that just happened last year on my 58, but it didn't go through the hood.
