Thats a little steep but not bad. Measure the core size (distance between the the end tanks and across the width and thickness example= 11" x 6" x 2 1/2") Sometimes a later model heater has the same core size. If that is the case a person could change tanks for less money. There are not many companies that make that type of core any more.
