Longbox 55 is correct.
The stock auto was the old cast-iron Hydra-Matic (heavy). This was the unit that B and M Racing Trannies made their reputation on. It didn't have a torque multiplier like the later trannies, but it was pretty stout. If you have a Power-Glide, then someone has already done a transplant. If you want to be different, run that old Hydra-Matic, but don't drop it on your foot!
