hello-I guess I've been a lurker long enough. It's time to get my feet wet. I am 59 years old and live in Upper Michigan were we often get close to 300 inches of snow.I've been a car nut my whole life. I've got the best job in the world. I am an Auto shop teacher at a local high school. I also teach Small Engines and Metal Shop. I open the shop on weekends and evenings for the students that want to come in work. Since I don't have a hoist in my shop at home I use this extra time I put in to work on my projects. It also gives me a chance to get some free labor. I was weaned on Chevy sixes. I think I have owned them all. My daily driver is a '53 half ton-all stock except for a 12 volt system and seat belts. I just finished a 292-.030 over that will be going in this winter. I will run a T 5 behind it. Not sure yet what rear end I will use. I also have a '50 burb with a 350. I stll have the first car I owned. That is a '48 Chev coupe. It also has a 350 but it is still a long way from being done. My daughter lives near Tulso Ok so I make 2 or 3 trips a year down there (1100 miles one way) A couple of years ago my son and I hauled a '60 step side back and he is working on it. chalmers( I am into old tractors also) When I am in Ok, I usually manage to get to the drags at Tulsa Inter. I have picked up a lot of good info on this site. I hope that my 50 some years of skinned knuckles will also be able to help out. My wife always says that I talk too much so I better finish before you guys agree with her. Thanks Don J
