Howdy.... I'm still not sure I'm posting this message correctly but here goes... I'm brand new to the "truck" thing although I've been wanting a '49 to '53 Chevy for as long as I can remember.. For the past ten years or so I've been buying and restoring vintage MGs.. But, now I have a line on a '49 3100 and want some of your help in determining it's worth... It is a complete and original truck..not running and apparantly has not run for quite some time.. It has plenty of surface rust, but the only "rust through" spots I can find are at the bottom of the cab behind the doors on both sides..The windows will all have to be replaced.. starter is not in the truck, but is laying on the front seat...no serious body damage.. just rust.. I am still negotiating with the guy, but I believe I can buy the truck for $1,000...Anyone who can help me decide if this is a fair price.. please respond... Thanks, jerry P. Cram
