I'm in the process of rebuilding the transmission on my '53 3100 and need to install new 15/16 freeze plugs. You know, the round, slightly domed disks that you place in the hole and then flatten them out so they stay in place.

I've tried several local auto parts and hardware stores, but they don't carry this part. They have the newer "cup" style plugs and are quick to say that their part will work in place of the original. Of course, these are high school kids standing behind a counter that have probably never seen a transmission let alone worked on one.

You wouldn't think that this type of thing would be so hard to find, but it is. Does anyone know a source where I can find an original style freeze plug for my truck?
