I'd make'em of wood and put a piece of thin rubber between the block and frame - they must be necessary to fit the bed to the later frame with a higher kickup - you can find thick rubber [or neoprene] at industrial supply places, but doubt you have much of that kinda biz there in retirement-ville
you could also make up the right thickness by cutting up chunks of tire tread, but that's more work!
