The bolt pattern is the same, however '88 and up have a different backspace due to the indepedent front suspension. They did that to center the alignment angles to the wheel for handling. For the older trucks, you should be able to use wheels from a '87 or earlier 4x4 without any problems. Watch out on aftermarket wheels that are 6 lug, some of them are for Japanese trucks, they have a different backspace and will rub.
