My '48 thriftmaster has a channel that is situated from the center of the rear cross member of the frame to an additional bolted cross member. I'm told this is a spare tire carrier, however I can not find this configuration in my assembly manual. This channel slants downward toward the rear and is ridgid. I can only inagine a type of bolt that slids in this channel and somehow holds the tire in place. does anyone have an idea?
