As stated above, Chevrolet built the 1946 model into the the 1947 year. They might have been first registered (for a license) as 1947 truck but they were most likely referred to as 1946 models by Chevrolet. It looks like the only 1947 model referred to in Chevrolet literature was the new
"Advance-Design" series of trucks (
1947 to \'55-1st series ).
GMC trucks of the same era/years were called "New Design".
