OK, if you can afford it, buy it and put it on eBay for sale for a nice little profit or maybe you have something else close by. In the meantime drive it, carefully, but enjoy. When sold the profit goes to the '59, you have had a "taste" of it and working on the '59 it is more fun.
If you can't afford it, make him a deal to sell it for him for a small fee, you get to drive it for a picture shoot and showing to potential buyers (your brother in law, that guy from work wink )
Once sold, your fee goes to something special in/on your bolt and you finish it with more fun.
I know, but I can't help it, I'm/was Dutch, that's the only way they make money over there.
