Hello Slow..Rider. The bends are ok and yes the air will pass by them as if they are not even there.
Bends and kinks are two different things and if you have a line that is bent to the point of restriction you will need to replace the line.
The speedy bleeder does let everything in the line out and does not let anything back in. So if you crack them open you can bleed the line of all air until you get a good clean stream of fluid and then close it without worrying about air sucking back into the line through the bleeder when you release the brake pedal.
Greatest invention since sliced bread!!
